High end high seats

Managed to buy 4 of these custom made Aluminium ideal for carrying to awkward spots, they sectional so you don't have to use all 3 tears nearly 18ft fully up.

I am something of a compulsive high seat spotter when abroad and have a good deal of envy when I see some. The first two are from the south Tirol and the other is outside cabellas in Pennsylvania.

But closer to home; the cow shed at Selkirk has a beauty of a tower which I always forget to photograph when I’m there.
Jeezo 😁👍got to admire some peoples handy work 🤔or should I say skilled work 😁top marks for building a shed on top of a tree especially when it looks like it’s no straight (picture 2 ) top marks .. you don’t see anything as good as that on ‘Homes Under The Hammer .

I would be scared to get into that...
I know what your saying when fully erected looks s bit daunting but when yer up and in they great.
You don't have to put them up fully 6ft sections so most of the time it's about 12ft but 18ft is handy when cover is up.

I’m just about to embark on building a high seat using 6x2 timber. I have 4 lengths of 4.8m long and a few other 3m lengths. Does anyone have a good design I could use please ? Preferably incorporating a covered roof etc. thanks.

Trouble is the price of decent wood in the UK due to the deforestation and population housing space needs.
But I just found this how to build one shown on a normal local German tv channel with some iffy English subtitles that you can follow.

Prices have come down a bit since this thread started but they’ll never get back to pre-plandemic levels.
I think shooting towers are great fun accessories for the lazy sportsman

Double glazed windows that open inwards and up and can be opened very quietly. Long enough for a full length camp bed and a comfy chair to sit. a veranda outside with a staircase up to it. Well insulated with wollen fleeces.

Easy enough to spend a night, even if well below zero. Got in at dark, started snowing and blizzarding hard , couldn’t see a thing. Curled up in sleeping bag and went to slip. About 2am the wind stopped and clouds went away. I awoke, hairs on back of neck raised, i could hear grunting. Looked out of the window and two big black moving objects in the middle of the maize. It took a moment or two to realise that the were both good sized boar.

Eased open the window. Centred cross hair on centre of shoulder. Yes a 50 year old Zeiss 6x42 with a 4 A reticle is designed fir the job and could see the boar clearly. Squeezed trigger. A big thwack as the bullet hit home. An almighty squeal and it rushed headlong into the wood about 30 yards from where he was. I heard him thrashing for moment. Text from German friend who was 400 metres away in another seat txt - good shot, solid impact and death squeal, but we will deal with him in the morning. Too dangerous to go looking for him in the dark.

I rolled over and went back to sleep

First light the others arrived with a truck. I found my pig dead at the bottom of a hazzle bush. Perfect shot. His skin is now on my study floor.

That’s fantastic. I love the whole “post apocalyptic” genre. So niche!
Is that a James Chadderton original piece ?
Or is it from Mugatu’s Derelicte campaign?

Hahahahah
It serves the purpose perfectly - i had about 120 foxes from it last year
When i need a pipe or too for a job i just jiggle them about a bit
