HIK Alpex 4k build quality / design fault

Anyone else had a similar problem with their HIK Alpex 4k?
Took the Alpex out of the gunbag, only to find that the rubber cover over the on/off button and record/LRF buttons had become completely detached.
Now not impressed with HIK build quality
(Possibly a design shortfall)?

Never seen that before is this the latest model or the previous one? If its still under warranty contact the supplier if not id say they will still be able to do something for you just incase moisture or rain will get in there.

The LRF sits above the scope, in parallel. Can't have it centered with cross hairs without having the LRF on a motorised gimbal to point it where the scope is zeroed, which obviously changes with range and load

Could it also be a fault with your gun bag , possibly zip gripping the rubber and pulling it off ?

Would be nice to have the box aligned with the zero of choice 🤔

would be nice for me to get the pip disabled, when using the rf, when pressing the pip activates due to pressing to long, don't need the pip.

I've not had this happen and been using mine a couple of times a week for the past 11 months but...........I do take more care with the Alpex 4k outfit when squeezing through hedges and through trees. A friend of mine has had issues with the recharging socket cover coming off and I have had my front lens cover come off.

Same here with the charging socket cap coming off.
luckily managed to find it and now I hold the cap in place with a piece of black electrical tape .

I could be wrong but I think there’s an option to turn PIP off in the menu somewhere? Agree, it’s a pain in the hoop when you’re trying to get a distance & it doesn’t happen, probably due to movement or moisture in the air etc. & you hold it just too long & get PIP pop up!

All our thermal imaging equipment of whatever brand / make, should be treated with a lot more care than you would give your £1K worth of bino's.
They are extremely vulnerable to damage.

A fair point, but this is kit marketed to hunters, usually with pictures of burly lumberjack types in wild locations (aka daily life for SD members), so actually having to baby it feels like a demerit.

4k LRF Alpex, less than 1 year old.
Contacted Optical Elite and they are going to
send me replacement button cover which has a pre applied glue layer to hold it on.

Only asking, as the Alpex is a long bulky scope unlike lots of other scopes.
Mine is tight in my bag

It's pretty fresh to be doing that then. At least there sorting it for you and doesn't sound like its to bad to apply.
