Hilux oil

Mechanic filled my ‘13 mk7 2.5l diesel up with 5w-30 c4, £100 worth, against my instructions to use 0-30 or 5-30 c2 or c3

He says ‘c4’ is on his list on his computer as a compatible oil, but everywhere I look it’s definitely NOT! Of course, he is refusing to fix it

Leave it as is for a few months or eat the additional £100 and have it changed immediately

I'd change it - ideally at his expense. If you explicitly told him C2 or C3 then I don't think he has a leg to stand on. That is a very specific requirement from a customer not just "generic oil change please". I think C4 can cause issue with DPFs if the vehicle isn't supposed to use it (and quick google says Toyota's aren't!).

Always known to keep doing it myself, silly to get lazy and ask a garage to do it!! Toyota 5w-30 c2 from roughtrax being delivered today for another quick oil change.

…if you want something done right,, do it yourself!
