TBH the only reason I use No 9 is because of the smell! Same with Youngs .303 - the old stuff in the white tins, not that modern rubbish.Unless you are for some reason set on Hoppe‘s No. 9 take the advice given above and move on to Boretech. It is more effective and doesn‘t smell.

It contained benzene, a carcinogenic. It may of been stopped from sale or they changed the formula. I have some but rarely use it.
