Anyone been using these ?
Had a somewhat different result than i expected last night , having been working on a load in my 1-12 sako in 223 i have worked out a sweet load ( 1/2" at up to 200 yards). Decided put the zero 2" high at 100 yards , looking for the 4" tunnel for Roe and other legal species . ( not bad for a sh rifle rifle of maybe 20 years old ish eh?)
Now at present the field at home has too much vegetation after that meant my next clear area was 350 yards , so i put out a nice big target to collate some drops ( somewhat passed the window i will use said rifle on my chosen quarry ) ...... Coulnt get the damb things on paper nor find any bullet strikes !
Have seen this before that bullets can just loose stability but i would not expect it at just 350 with a 50 grain bullet , if it wasnt so tight at 200 i would have had my doubts that a bullet could loose the plot traveling another 150 but am aware copper will loose energy faster than lead
Has anyone any experiance in these or other light copper ? I shoot as low as 100 grain TTSX in the 260 and that is just incredible , i have also seen many 22rf bullets just simply loose it at a certain range window ( todays eley subs hit a wall around 80 yards in my cz 452 ) before that they are dead nuts on it though and the old ones i shot well to 130 yards
Its not a big bother really i can just shorten up the range on the deer but i do like some reserve in the tank just in case something goes wrong at some time
I realise twist rate and velocity combined matter but i wasn't even getting the thing on paper and it was neat perfect conditions
