Depends what you’re doing in your field!
Stalking wise - always wanting to wander off and find things. Mine has no natural range limit, but is always happy to come back, usually with a slight “live by satellite” delay. Can follow trail easily but likes to do it at speed, his gentle trot is a good run for humans.
Don’t worry about them being too visible (as they ain’t small!) he started really white, now he’s only visible when he moves in any kind of cover past 75 m.
On birds (which I don’t do) he’s keen, focussed and will hunt in patterns with little or no training. His favourite game when he’s running free is to search thru rushes head down. He will point and hold naturally but if you don’t respond/notice he moves on.
In general - he is a loving soft character that needs attention/his people around (not left in a kennel), but that might be this one. He does have a phenomenal ability to cover ground without looking like he’s trying (think big horse). I doubt he’ll ever get hold/ finish your mistake but he’s happily keep it at bay. He’s easily cowed by a raised voice and is a quick learner but not keen to please like my WHV, stern look will make him pull his neck in now.
Once the day is done he turns off and you get the free rug display.
Only downside I would change is the dribbly chops which get shaken (and that’s with us keeping his beard short). Worst when fresh from the water bowl.
