I didn't take my own advice

Police are just off the phone. There's not enough evidence to even go to his door. My word against those in the car. Feeling let down

so you have had an altercation that involved a police visit and they questioned a man with an air rifle.
a visit which you instigated and received abuse and threatening behaviour directed towards you.

you report that this man has just followed you home and slowed down outside your home, where your family live, completely away from the location of the first incident.

assuming they did their job at the first scene they know this guy and where he lives. yo don't need the reg number of the car
coincidence is extreme I would have thought

I can see no reason why a copper knocking at his door to ask why he was at your house wouldn't nip that in the bud

you have been assaulted by similar individuals on a previous occasion
tell them you are concerned it will happen again and ring them again

If you see these muppets in the car again, make sure you notice the firearm in the car ! .... that will attract swift and heavy police interest in the matter.

I went into the local police station this morning because i wasnt happy with what i was told last night. I explained about what had happened on Friday , the guys sitting in the car Saturday and bring followed home last night. Firstly i was told to forget about Friday. They were warned about their behaviour and that was it. No reprimand about being on ground illegally

them sitting in the car and following me home isnt an offence per say. Yes it's intimidation but as ive no witnesses it would be my word against a car load of guys.

so basically ive to keep my wits about me Report anything that happens

" you don't look happy with that " days the cop.
I said well no. No matter how you look at it being follows to my front door is sinister. I've a wife and disabled child at home , sorry until someone breaks the law theres nothing they can do

Unfortunately you are in a common predicament. Unless these guys actually lay hands on you, the cops will do very little.

The cops are really only there to mop up after the event, not stop the "event" from happening....

Prevention of crime is supposed to be one of the core functions of a police force! If you've been followed home, the least they can do is see these bozo's again and warn them. Yes, they've been warned about the trespassing thing, but this is new. I should 1. keep a written record of everything that happens, made immediately after it happens (more likely to be believed in court if it comes to that) and 2. speak to a police supervisor and ask why they are doing nothing to deter them and protect you and yours. The police are stretched these days, it's no wonder they try to sort things out without too much work on their part, but be insistent and say you will hold them accountable if something happens to you or yours and they did nothing.

so intimidation is not an offence?!
great, then my protection racket business idea has legs after all!!

what a load of crap

a) it is an offence
b) the police can do anything they like and having a quiet word in his shell like could be all that is required
c) get his bloody number and speak to his super!!!

if the police are not there to prevent crime why the hell are there so many knocking around any public event from football matches to garden parties!?
they have a whole bloody division called...wait for it,... "CRIME PREVENTION"!!!!!!
full of people called....wait for it......"CRIME PREVENTION OFFICERS"!!!!

Mind if I get a few more details from you about this.

I'm in the mood to get tore into Kenny MacAskill on this!

One one hand he's right in there saying air rifles should be licenced and yet on the other when the police have a legit fire arms offence there is no action taken.

Smacks of hypocrisy to me.

Just came home from work to find a trooper parked out side my house , he move off slowly. I walked down the drive as it passed the house Leering out the window at me was the older guy. I jumped in my van and followed him so i could get the regi number. Now awating the police visiting me

Should have just followed him home to make him fully aware that if out happens to you or your property you know were to find him also !

FFS!
I hope you manage to persuade the police that they need to actually do something!
Might be an idea to get CCTV and keep a camera handy

keep a camera handy

+1
Photograph them, their vehicle, their number plate etc etc.

Take it steady though - all they'd need to do is make up a story about you using threatening behaviour and your FAC could be on the line. Maybe they know this, and are trying to lead you on into a compromising position?

They turned off the main rd into a single track. I am not that stupid to get blocked down there with 2 guys

Im SURE you saw a firearm in the vehicle this time !!!!!!!!

You must stress that you are in fear of yours and your families safety.
I would also mention to the police that you are prepared to take the matter further if need be.

go to your local police station, insist on speaking directly to the Inspector or who ever is senior, make it clear that you are feeling intimidated and that the Police have not handled the matter, politely advise them that you will push the problem up the food chain to the Chief Constable and that you would like the full contact details of said CC. do not be fobbed off with "forget last Friday/Saturday etc" as should it come to trial all these incidents will be brought out, the Police love to "sign off" on incidents as they can then show a "result" in their records, this is to suit them not you. Free or low cost legal advice should be available via a solicitor, go see one! do not be afraid to make an official complaint if you feel you have grounds, they will not hold it against you, and it may stir things up.

Right. Cops just away. This new guy was spot on. They visited his home and asked why he was at my address , just to **** me off , he was never gonna do anything. was the reply. Cops said they read him the riot act, and if he is spotted here again hee will be charged with breach of the peace

The cop was confused as to why the original officer didn't contact the landowner regarding permission to be on the ground. And he was going to chase it up
