I'm famous (Sc*mwatch Facebook Page)

if we live in a world where we are fearful of posting pictures of ourselves and or family enjoying hunting or fishing pursuits then we might as well hide ourselves away as we've already lost the battle to be accepted in today's society.

If on the other hand we bash back and make a mockery of those people that aim to drive us from any sort of media presence we hold our head up high and show then that to us they are just pests and idiots of no consequence. The educated individual then can see two sides and make their own mind up with side is wrong.

Sorry Alex, but many within the hunting community get this in the face regularly from anti hunt types. If you remove yourself from the internet and reduce your presence in the real world because of their action then they truly start to win. While not wanting to involve the site is clearly the right move, the members of the site are entitled to make up their own mind on this topic and be aware of the dangers of these type of groups.

Removing reference to it would be an error.

Hi Paul,

Of course what people decide to do on Facebook is their own concern - I mean Facebook have as good as confirmed that is OK by them! However, I'm just conscious of the fact that every time someone links to Facebook pages like this the 'owners' of those pages can see the origin of the traffic.

For example, here is the same data off our own Facebook page

If enough people click a link to their page from our site we will pop up on their stats and they will naturally come looking. Personally I would rather the hunting/shooting community was seen to be above name calling on facebook, but that's not my call.... I can speak for this site though and I'd rather we were not a part of it.

Alex

Good news! I've been complaining to Facebook about this for a while now and I just got a message through saying they've reversed their decision and taking the picture of the OP down!

Scum Watch on Facebook

I know this has already been posted on here but I looked at the Facebook page yesterday and reported it to Facebook as being threatening. They sent an email back saying that it doesn't contravene there community policy so they will not take it down. If lots of you report the page they will have to act.

If it doesn`t contravene their policies they don`t have to do anything as they have proved.
If you don`t want to risk the wrath of Scumwatch don`t post your photos for the world to see even though you are doing something perfectly legal.

Why don't we in mass have our photos taken as we would normally but wear something blanking out our faces add a sign "ONE FOR SCUM WATCH" and add it to their site from a bogus Face book account?
See if they want to close the site then
Wingy

I've just received a notice saying they've changed their mind again and removed the page.... again

I suspect it's semi automated... when you submit a report you automatically get back a "sorry but we think it's ok" reply, until the number of reports goes above a certain amount, then you get a "we have revised our decision, it has been removed" reply, then they appeal, it gets re-instated and round we go again...

I also got the 'we've closed it' email. I wonder where the petition is to reinstate it so I can report that as well......
