Last year I swapped to Lancaster who quoted me £132 fully comp, 9 yrs NCB and 4 K miles. This years renewal was hiked to £182. Call to Adrian Flux got a quote for £175 exactly same policy/syndicate. Ran it through on line comparison site cheapest was Swinton at £117, M@S offering v good deal and cover at £135.

This am called Lancaster to discuss huge premium hike and eventually got it back down to last years price so renewed.

Oh why can't they just be sensible, if they had put it up 5 or 10 % I would have renewed straight away, but no again 20 mins of my time spent haggling car insurance.

My mob whacked another $120 on the price of last years premium and I had no claims at all..I told them to GAGF and I jumped ship.
They are still trying to get me back..F em!

I heard that some renewals are computer generated in that various inputs and details are put in and the renewal sent out, when questioned on the £150 price hike to the phone operator he replied, the figure is negotiable and dropped the renewal down by £100 which was accepted.

No loyalty in the insurance industry, always offer good deals to new business then try to recoup by hiking at renewal. It really pays to be a rate tart and shop around every year.
