They seem spot on for size with a good pair of boot socks I take a 10 and they feel spot on I have broad feet and I have no complaints in that department either so thumbs up from me.....

I have used setters for years now plenty of mink oil keeps them in good raf
buying a new pair about 5 years ago farmer walked past in the shop and said I must be well of to spend that much on boots so I asked how often he bought wellies at £25 every month or two was the reply my answer was I wear my boots at least three days every week the the last pair lasted 7 years noe do the sums.

Good luck with the russell moccasin boots muir - I read about them on forums a few times and people can't speak highly enough of them.
If you need a backup pair I'd say Altberg wouldn't have a problem sending you an odd pair? I must see if they'd do it for me - usually a 3 month lead time for made to order boots. I got two pairs off them this year and was well impressed.
The weather is so wet hear though this year that my boots are getting ruined - wet grass day after day - then fox hunting at the weekend and all the leathergris in the world won't save them.
Good to hear about the Blackislander or Diotto as they're called on Swillington's - thanks for the tips lads.
I had a pair of OTB jungle boots for three summers - there's a lot to be said for maintenance free boots - life's too short for polishing.

+1 for Blackislanders, had a pair for 3 years and there still going strong and used them on the grouse moors, stalking, game shooting and beating. The big plus is you just have to hose them down at the end of the day and let them dry. I take a average UK size 9 and they are a EU 43 and I find them a neat fit, very comfy with no breaking in required.

I've had a pair of setters for about six years, got em off e bay, I think the post an tax were as much as the boots £130 I recall, (I've seen them at game fairs £230); a bit stiff when I put them on but after I set off there like slippers (beautiful) I was advised to get the US 9 as I take a UK 8
i wear them all the time unless its absolutely!! And yea after a couple of days tramping round in the soaking wet conditions stalking they have let water in, if I could afford some more I'd buy em and put them away till needed

I have the Irish Setter Elk tracker variety and they seem perfectly fine to me. I have wide feet and they cater for this in normal to D to EEE fittings that does not seem to be in Europe or the UK. They are really comfortable now they are broken in, I think this is the most important quality of a boot.
