is a Golf Rangefinder appropriate for stalking?

Is there anything i should know if i get a used golf rangefinder intending to use it for stalking?

I mean I assume it'll all be the same sort of thing, right? just this happens to be white not camo but I could be wrong about that.

A friend has upgraded his golf kit and has a spare (originally £150 quid - so it was decent but we're not talking fancy Leica top-of-the-range kit)

He'll let me have it for a fair price but am i going to find it's missing features useful for stalking?

Thanks

If I were you and if it’s still available, I’d grab the Leica 1200 in the Classifieds for sale by Hendrix’s Rifle.

What you'll likely not get, is the ballistic range (accounting for angle).

Other than that, it'll work just the same.

I got my first range finder for about £60 on AliExpress. It had everything you could want in a shooting range finder. Sold it on her for about £20 odd a few months back and he was also saying how great it was.

For £50, I'd probably opt for an Ali special one with illuminated readouts and inclination adjusted range, over a golf one

Golf ones are normally lot more money wise because it’s golf equipment
I had hawke ones which were ok but both packed up just over a year , so got a cheap one from eBay and still using it three years later, only paid £35 for it

I left one on a scottish glen two years ago and immediately bought a replacement. Then last year I bought a Zulus 520 lrf which is brilliant - I still carry the rangefinder though just for the handy 6x magnification in a very small package.

See if you can get a deal on the Leica one for sale in the classified if looked after it will last years. + you might even sell it on for what you paid later.
