Is The LANTRA Course Still Valid?

Will not be doing a second course on dispatch.
Do not think it is worth the cost . cost of course and a three hour round drive plus fuel cost all for five years.
AND then five years later££££££££££££££££££

All Lantra awards have a shelf life. You could say the same about FAW+F. Continual professional development means you are abreast of the latest information on any chosen subject.
Grandfathers rites on training and qualifications are a thing of the past.
I can still re wire a house, fault find on PLC controls and probably wipe the floor on HVAC controls with any new electrical apprentice. But if |I don't have the latest IEE regs under my belt, I cant even wire a plug.

Wished i had known it only lasted five years would have done a better course.
But i have not used it so would not bother again and cant see many changes in deer coming.

Ok with all works you need to keep up to date and refresher courses as i used to do.
But dispatch work feel you only need to refresh on firearm laws and keeping other's safe

What's to say any other course you do wouldn't have an expiry date or be overtaken by legislation or a particular managers wants? unfortunately it the way of the modern world I have to renew courses at work every 2, 3 & 5 years subject dependant.
It's been mentioned before on here about the non DMQ qualification being lantra and would it require a refresher.

Completed my Humane animal dispatch course through BDS it as a Lantra cert and as a exp date of15/05/2026.
Why should this have a expire date.
One course should be enough or is it a money maker.
Still have all my training book for a refresher course.

I will admit i know nothibg about this course/Had.

But as far as i am aware ALL Lantra courses have a 5 yr expiry.

Must admit i dont know why any hobby users would ever do a Lantra ticket, because they all expire.
If u pay the slught bit extra to do an Nptc ( granted i dont think they do a HAD course)
But for quads and chainsaws etc pay the extra and have a ticket that doesnae expire.
The course content is pretty similar anyway.

Normally i wouldnae touch a Lantra course, some land agents dont even accept them ( or atleast tgat was tge case in the past)

That's why I thought I'd post here, as I'm unsure what future requirements may be. What with certain counties and police forces trying to have a certain shared standard, makes me wary of doing any type of course at the moment.

NPTC and some other providers courses don’t expire but most industry and pretty much all insurance companies require a proof of refreshment or up skilling even with these courses.

As far as i know only require to be updated if working professionally.
And even then only some need to be updated.

Ive never heard off anyone being sked to renew a quad ticket that us not expired, same with FMOCs ( forestry machine tickets, harvester, forwarder, even 369 digger etc) never need to ve updated.
Yet ur saw ticket does!!
Absolute BS.
Esp when ur building sute digger tickets which are renewed every 5 years and harder to pass are bot accepted ib forestry, yet ur mickey mouse forestry ticket never expires.

For a hobby stalker on a lease most companies wilk ask for say a quad tickwt and as lpng as still in date thats all that matters as computer wont flag it up.

Esp for quad/argo and any others u have a choice i'd 100% always pay the extra for a NPTC ticket with no expiry.
