The rest of us can shoot Muntjac too 
These two were full of the joys of spring & very much of the mind that Saturday night’s alright for ‘dancing’ - first spotted them coming out of a wood 400 yards diagonally across the field from where I was sat watching a group of fallow that didn’t want to come out to play.
They then dropped into a dell in the field about 180 yards off & whilst the thermal confirmed they were still there they didn’t show themselves & eventually I gave up waiting - instead willing the fallow to follow their normal late evening route down the hedge towards where I was waiting, they didn’t!
Then, out of the blue, they popped out & were off across the field towards the hedge - a quick “mah” & they carried on, another “mah” also ignored, must be losing my touch! Reaching the headland the doe disappeared in the hedge & I was expecting the buck to follow - he didn’t, he stopped… fatal mistake, bang flop!
With that the doe came back out of the hedge, turned & trotted towards me about 5 yards then stopped, turned & looked back as if to say “why have you stopped chasing me?” - bang flop again!
Two muntjac shot about 5 yards apart at 150 yards with the same 120gn 6.5mm soft point bullet - one hit the bone in the shoulder, the other didn’t. Can you tell which is which?
