it started with lizard tails....

The great cull started with a handmade catapult.

I was a 6 year-old-boy and lizard tails were the target. Forgive me.

Like you, sniper school soon started with my first .22 BSA air rifle. I slept with her every night.
That said, I despised sleep. It ate into hunting time.

Born in Zambia, (David Livingstone's resting place) there was plenty to shoot for the three legged pot.
The African wood pigeon fried on the open fire was an early favourite.

Cast from a family of hunters, it wasn’t long before I had the privilege of taking my first Cape buffalo in Zambia’s Lunga Busanga GMA. Wow! What an experience. If only you knew how it changed me forever.

I lost count of what else I’ve stalked in Africa over 30 years of hunting: warthog, reedbuck, waterbuck, anteater, impala, duiker, dik-dik, heartabeast, wilderbeast, zebra, kafue lechwe.

Not forgetting the wildfowl wonders too:

Guineafowl, quail, various ducks, canada goose and my all time favourite: the spur-winged goose found on the majestic open lagoon of Zambia’s Kafue Flats.

I happily turned down opportunities to shoot the remainder of the big five because I couldn’t see myself grilling lion steaks (even though my great grandfather was dismembered by one... dragged from his tent)

Why join this forum?

In truth, living in both London and Zambia from birth, I took my stay in the UK as a break from hunting so I never pursued hunting opportunities in the UK.

That said, as I’m spending more time here with the children, I am looking to explore the UK/European hunting scene, for sport, a good feed and maybe even business.

Thanks for reading my intro,

Well, that's a proper introduction, with a pleasant flair for an attention grabbing headline and an engaging story. Welcome!

(From one for whom "it all started with a line and hook and a grasshopper at the end of a length of hazel, one summer afternoon when my mother had a migraine").
