Kennel flooring suggestions?

Well I will never win in a competition of the above nature as I am not a Mr. You will have no problems finding your answer on here though i'm sure... This place is full of experts on all sorts of things.. Quite amazing really.... Bed time

I go with this as I used to work in a boarding kennels and as it was being changed for the new regs that came in used this method then it was water sealed. It was great to clean and even after a few years looked new.

Hi lads and lasses, having to revamp the kennel floor for the third time in 2 years, has any one got any suggestions for a suitable surface? I have had concrete which held the smell and cracked.Next I was suggested laying non slip tiles, which where very easy to keep clean, but are now lifting as the frost gotunder them! Now I have been told to concrete then paint with floor paint. This is for the run part of the kennel.Any ideas?ThanksPointerJack

How big an area are we talking ???

Its two runs actually, 3mX1.5m each so just over 9m sq. This has got bigger than Ben Hur and sort of answered my original question. Any surface that withstands jetwashing occasionally and daily hosing, that is not going to force me to re-mortgage to cover the cost, and is easy enough for me to do, will be just fine!

I agree with Tom but lay a good quality builders polythene first on the ground and this stops damp rising and lifting top treatment you put on.

I have used a clear epoxy product which self levels and seals concrete, I buy it from Kingfisher Chemicals in Cumbria it leaves a smooth flat finish that you would happily eat your dinner off! My mate uses equestrian rubber matting meant for stables in the sleeping box in summer, not the run, it's black foam rubber 50mm thick and you jet wash it to to clean it.
