i live in wiltshire whom are generaly very good with my rifles but they did get a little upset when they found out i was lamping with my .308, and just like you all i said well it does state i can use it for fox as well as deer and they then explained that they will now not allow any rifle over .22-250 to be granted just for use on foxes and that when its on your ticket for deer and fox its only for if you see a fox whilst stalking. well if this is the case and to be honest i dont think it is there are a lot of people not using there rifles in accordance with there conditions due to the rules not being properly explained
Yes this is more or lees what I was told. ??

That is very interesting, I am in Wiltshire too. I did ask about foxing with the 6.5x55 and was told it wasn't a problem, although they had conditioned my 17HMR for fox because they preferred me to use that due to the frangible bullets. I'm not convinced that the HMR is a humane lamping tool when it comes to foxes however (no problem from high seats when you have more time to pick your shot).

it was my .17hmr that they wanted me to use lamping but to be honest the amount of fox control i do the .17 just wasnt up to the job, and to be honest i would just use your 6.5x55, i cant see the police ever taking your ticket off of you as they have said you can shoot foxes with it but havnt told you how so its there fault at the end of the day

.22LR, 22-250, 12bore/.243 combi, .308

All covered by just one condition for deer and any other lawful quarry - quite common with open certs in D&C. I guess they trust us to decide what is suitable or legal for the quarry.
