Laserluchs IR Laser

Is anybody using or used any Laserluchs IR laser illuminators?? I’m curious to know if they are worth the money????

I use a Laserluchs 5000 with my ATN 4K pro and have had no reason to complain.
There may be more powerful IR lasers on the market of which I have not compared mine to but I have no reason to.

I should clarify that I did not but the unit specifically, it was with a Pulsar digisight I bought a while back and have never changed from it.

Had one on my Longbow, i found it was a little to powerful at times, so i now use the adjustable Solaris,
some evenings/nights i find i dont need much IR, so the adjustable type work fine.

I should have said it’s the Laserluchs 50mW Pro IR illuminator 850nm Mk 2, I was looking at, something similar to a Starlight Firefly but without the long wait for it...

I have a PBiR but including the mount it adds a lot of weight onto the very back of the Nv unit.

I must admit this is one thing I do miss about my old digisight 750, that you could use it with no IR on a moonlit night.

Thanks for that. To be honest the XR5 tube is amazing but wanted that little bit of extra illumination just in case.

Look at PBIR or similar, or if you have all the ability to see, identify and shoot out to, and beyond 500yds then spend the money on the overpriced IR.

Thank you. I have the PBiR but think a more compact/lighter IR would be more suited to the Longbow because over time a lot of weight on the NV unit is not good for the connection between it and the actual scope. The starlight firefly is the ideal combination obviously but trying to get one is almost impossible!!

I had a Laserluchs, i had it on a Cobra add on and you are right that it is small and light, it was very bright, i cant remember which model it was but it was around £500 about 8 years ago, it all of a sudden stopped working only after about three years, I then went to a Dragonfly which is as powefull but twice the size, cheers

Ah ! right then, simpler solution to everything would be to look at attaching the ir to the scope and "not" the NV unit,
I did not rate the firefly, it was too patchy, and burns tubed.

Yes changing the mounts was my next option because the Tier one mounts I’m using don’t leave any room on the scope tube for any other form of IR mount.
