Lead ban

From becoming obsolete i mean, being left in the past. There are plenty of rifles that out preform the .222 with far more ammunition options available, all I meant was with the lead ban coming and the cut off being .243 it means that the vmax rounds will only be available in the smaller calibres

There’s always something that ‘out performs’ something. 270 win is better than .243. 300 win mag is better than .270 etc.

.222 is accurate. More than capable of taking roe in Scotland . No recoil and very quiet. Nothing to dislike in my view.

300 win mag is a powder guzzler and does nothing more than what a 270 can do or 3006 , Ben now tried that got the T-shirt threw it away!

Could just wait for it to turn.

Let’s be honest, if you’re on day 7 of a 7 day hunt which may be a once in a lifetime trip and it might be heading off into the bushes etc, these things aren’t happening.

Yeah we could argue all the nuances where smaller cals will get you by.

In essence & back to the top, big fan of the .222

By outperform - do you mean in terms of deadness of the target, or just damage to the meat?
