Lead ban

Am I correct in understanding one can keep lead ammunition? It's only the sale and use of which is banned?
And am I correct in believing absolutely no exwmptions exist for small calibre shotguns and muzzleloader shotguns?

What a surprise. Have a “consultation “ ignore the issues raised and implement exactly what you wanted in the first place. Democracy in this country is dead.

And very likely it will happen again with the moving of section 2 to section 1.

The freedoms we once enjoyed in this country are disappearing, year by year as each successive government likes to think they know best.

correct and correct, I understand the government are going to recruit 100,000 lead wardens to go out and check no lead ammunition is being used, job starts 1st April 2029 pay £95,000 like an MP now gets.

I know what i will do 31st March 2029 go out and shoot into the air every lead cartridge I may have remaining at the local clay ground, not at clays just into the ground, hopefully can make it a an organised event for everyone 😊

The same ground they can still scatter thousands and thousands of air gun pellets or rimfire lead bullets 😂

So what happens to the thousands of cartridges already in stock after next month?
Hello @Smellydog :) Well i cant speak to how the UK legislators might go about it, but here in Denmark i believe the lead ammo hunting ban was announced 18-24 months ahead of time, during which time one could still hunt with lead legally.
It is also still possible to hunt in neighbouring Sweden with lead rifle ammo, so left overs can be used there, or here on the range and still be legal.
Now If you ask me if some hunters do not still use their lead ammo stock piles for hunting here in Denmark, and point out that policing if that is the case or not is very unlikely to happen due to a lack of man power and cost, i am not going to disagree.....

Just consider how free we are to shoot as many deer as we like, whenever we like, compared to the hunting restrictions that exist in many other so-called "free" countries, such as the States.
It's not all bad, you know.
And as long as we have guns we'll find something to send down the barrel.
