Thinking of buying 1 of the above as it looks like a good bit of kit, as it chamfers, and deburs as well, as I find that, a bit time consuming, but does it trim consistent, that is my question, Thanks in advancr
never thought of that Rider, but i have an old press i don't use here somewhere could use that, was that with a drill attached,or by hand it left the mouth ragged ,Woodlander
I have several. Works fine. Don't worry about the press; If it is built to decent tolerances the brass that MIGHT make it past the tray that catches the debris won't do much more than require a wiping off. I have used RCBS forming Die Sets where you hacksaw , file and ream case necks that protrude from the dies. These have been around for decades. I doubt I did my press any harm.~Muir
Took the chamfering and deburing blades off of mine, seem to remember they made a lousy job. As Muir wrote above, the brass cuttings should not damage a steel press.
Ditto to MUIR. I remember cutting and reaming .308 Winchester to make .44 Auto Mag using RCBS's dies for such on my Rockchucker. The debris just brushed off onto the floor and then vacuumed up.
Mine works fine ,better than the bloody three jaw attachment for holding cases when using hand tools that opens and closes when it feels like it!does my head in i should have sent it back but i thought, oh its new it will sort itself but it hasn,t
I have one, use it for the few cases I reload to save adjusting my RCBS trimmer from its main task..... handy but not the greatest bit of kit Lee came up with.
Its worth having available, but not really accurately consistent.
Have one myself and haven't had any issues, occasionally have anrough case mouth but I normally give my cases a once over with a vld dechamfer tool so no great drama for me. Nice quick and efficient tool
I bought one of these for re-sizing 22 Hornet to 17 Hornet (lot of brass to remove).
Brilliant piece of kit when used with the drill attachment.
I leave the chamfer and debur blades on as it seems to perform better, but always run the RCBS No9 over the cases after as it tidies the case mouth far better.
