Thread 'Overview of the Reloading Process - From Spent Case to Loaded Round'

This is intended as an overview of the reloading process explaining the steps required to turn spent brass cases into new loaded rounds. It is aimed at those people who are unfamiliar with the reloading process but if any old hands want to chip in with alternative suggestions then please do - I have only been reloading a year or so myself and there is always more to learn!

The article assumes we have the load data for the load we want and doesn't go into any detail about deciding what that load should be, the seating depth etc. That can be for another article!

Yes, don't ask any such question on social media unless you want loads of contradictory good advice. Failing that just get a copy of the abc of reloading as a starting point!

Almost all you need other than dies and a set of digital callipers. Upgraded scales will speed things up (SH RCBS 505s £50-60) and a manual trickler (£20) will help.

What do you want to do? Load for consistency, cost, specific load for your rifle, or get into the precision side of it?

I ask as someone who started out with the former and then got seduced by the dark side. If the former, then find a mate to help you work a load and just load to that. My Sako 85 with 130 TTSX is gnat's crochet accurate and consistent thanks to a good friend. I've no intention messing with this, but am playing for my 6.5
