Did you ever send the failed moderator to the proof house?![]()
Moderator failure
Thought I would get your collective thoughts on this. Obviously this is my side of the story but would appreciate your expertise. I already have discussed this with a few gunsmiths and they have given their views. Story- custom 6.5prc, carbon barrel, custom action, PSE stock- no expense...www.thestalkingdirectory.co.uk
Not a Lawrence precision. Those of you who have one, glad it works. I won’t even put the replacement forced upon me near my rifle.
this is how it shoots with a spare hardy gen4 6.5mm so doubt it is due to poor rifle manufacturing.
Hi Camdig, what do you mean by super expensive? Im intrested in something on 243. ThanksI've got a Titanium Aurora on 243, it slim and light weight but super expensive.
It came with rifle when I bought second hand. Cracking Mod though
Before you think about going down that road be aware of rwade545s experience.Hi Camdig, what do you mean by super expensive? Im intrested in something on 243. Thanks
No, they have new line Ultimate Silence 3D, and smallest model is dubbed "131" i.e. 131 grams. Is F&D 149 officially the lightest mod to be had?
I have one on my 6.5x55 absolutely love it about a 1000 shots through it and no problems whatsoever. Mind you I have never really had any bother with f&d and I’ve had 3 still run two although the ultimate silence is the best I’d sayNo, they have new line Ultimate Silence 3D, and smallest model is dubbed "131" i.e. 131 grams.
I have an impression that people are more satisfied with this new line than the older Featherweight. I have no experience with F&D, but I do think they publish very optimistic attenuation numbers.
I'm considering Ultimate Silence 3D 231, since it's one of the smallest and lightest magnum rated mods.
Best way to reduce front heavy weight , is actually to lop a few inches off the barrel . Switching to a slightly faster powder , lighter bullets can help a heap . Often its not the actual weight anyhow its how far out it is .Hello
Looking for a slim, lightweight and over barrel moderator a lightweight stalking rifle, does anyone have any suggestions? So many makes and models out there!!
Thanks in advance
Did two inches more make it not pointable and easy handling ? Or did he upsell ?^^^^ My view too. Mike Norris took 2” off my Sako 75 .243 barrel making it very pointable, easy handling rifle, especially with the F&D FW149 moderator on the front. Running 80 gr TTSX, it’s a delight to stalk with. Look at the F&D UTS131 moderator - even lighter!
