A 4-year-old boy arrived in serious condition at the County Emergency Hospital in Focsani after being bitten and almost disfigured by a wild animal, most likely a lynx.
Alina Cosma, the hospital's spokesperson, stated: "The child was brought by ambulance to the UPU with multiple debilitating wounds to the face and scalp from a bite by a wild animal, most likely a lynx. Doctors intervened quickly and managed to stabilize him, stop the bleeding and suture all the wounds. At this moment, the child's condition is stable, he is under medical care in the Pediatric Surgery department, where he is also receiving anti-rabies treatment."
The boy was reportedly in the yard of the house in Paltin, with his mother, but also with four dogs, which the owners have to protect them from bears that come to their household.
Poor child, I do hope he recovers fully.
Of course the nice friendly rewilded lynxes in our corner of God’s green earth would never do such a thing.
Probably because they would die of starvation within 24 hrs of said rewilding….
Interesting.
He was in the yard with four dogs, presumably of a fairly ferocious breed given the reason they were kept, he suffered serious bite wounds, and an unseen wild animal gets the blame.
Anyone else smell a rat?

See above,I had actually laid blame also before I read your own reply.
The rat is" if there were four bear dogs there then there was NO ****ing Lynx there."
Add,even if the four dogs were small fox terriers any lynx would have been in deep ****.
Animals with rabies does not behave normally (infected brain) and won’t pay mind to dogs or anything else they would normally be afraid of. It’s common for (small or large) animals with rabies to attack large dogs and people, or anything else which cross their path. Having bear dogs would be no deterrent whatsoever and whatever the animal was would likely be ripped to pieces by the dogs for attacking the child. Unfortunately it usually means putting all the dogs down as well since there is high likelihood of them being infected in a fight with something with rabies. The test for rabies is fatal since you need to dissect the brain.

It is not the first Lynx attack in that area. An adult was attacked a few years ago and it was clearly a lynx.
Also, in case of rabies, I would not be so sure about the lynx getting scared by dogs
