Malware Issues

It looks like they have exactly the same problem we had. I've just posted the fix and PM'ed one of their mods!

I think The Hunting Life has now gone aswell! Im thinking Antis might have something to do with this? Seems to be all websites shooting related:mad:

It's more widespread than just shooting sites, you just noticed the shooting sites because you visit them most. If you look at the reports for the malware domains "googlecodehosting" they have been used to attack all sorts of other sites, they even attacked DisabilityNow

http://safebrowsing.clients.google....codehosting.net/&client=googlechrome&hl=en-US

It seems to be an exploit in OpenX, the ad server we and many other sites use to display banners.

I'm pm'ing Teal on there at the moment... there was still an issue with the banners. I think he's got it sorted now but it will take google a while to remove the warnings which pop up on certain browsers (Chrome, Safari and possibly Firefox)

This has been a widespread problem from the looks of it. A lot of sites have been hit.

Since the problems started my Mac has been slow to load pages from any forum, and a few problems elsewhere, even trying to tax the car was an issue.
I have done all i can, cleared all caches and history as well as all cookies, not really helped, Norton antivirus is showing no problems either.
So.......
If anyone has any concerns about malware on their computers I can recommend the free version of Malwarebytes, available here:

Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download.

Is there a free version of the above to suit a Mac running OSX 10.8.4 ?

Neil. :)

I'd be very surprised if any of this has affected a Mac... most malware is targeted at Windows systems and will not do anything on a Mac.... maybe some Mac users will chip in but I don't use one so can't really recommend any software

What browser are you using? Check your browser extensions/plugins.

I'm not getting anything like that. So far as I can see we are 100% clear now.

I don't think so, I'm quite sure you've been hacked and someone has messed about with the site...earlier I read a post about synthetic stocks being 'good'...

I think it may be the Chinese trying to compromise us.

perhaps it's something rolled out by the Association of Stalking Widows against Internet Forum Usage Etc. (ASSWIFE).

Everything remotely screwy with people's PC's is going to be linked with Saturday's problems now!

Just tested with Firefox.... no cookies created except those meant to be created. It's definitely something on your PC Steve

Running it now Alex.

If it was me I'd backup bookmarks etc, uninstall Firefox, delete off any remaining Firefox files and re-install.

Couldn't resist I just Googled srv.mzcdn.com and got some little cartoon fellow dancing :-D. Looks as if you have been infiltrated by a dirty dancer Steve!

John

It's an animated gif of the Gangnam Style dance

I've double checked.... 100% the cookie is not being set by us
