DEFRA have changed the rules for poultry registration. You now need to register no matter how many birds you have, rather than 50 plus as before.

I think that will be widely ignored, unsurprisingly. People are fed up with being told what they can do in their own backyards.
Can't even keep a few bantams for the kids without government registration! Ffs.

and how will they id all the owners or inform them? I registered only due to finding out 3 months late that the hens had to be brought in and the run covered due to AI couple of years ago

Here in Wales I would have to register the 3 hens we have in the hen house but what about the dozens of magpies and crows that cannot be controlled that visit daily.

Classic case of being seen to do something in response to the wholly believable claims that industrial scale poultry farming is killing our rivers.
