You have achieved the definition of accurate? the target was reached, the target was DRT'd.

I agree with the second statement though.
Shooting 1/2" groups on paper whilst prone does not mean you can calculate a perfect point of impact internally and shoot it off sticks with your heart racing

I think some of you are forgetting that there is a lot more training to be a sniper than sitting on a range!
With the exception of perhaps a knowledge of how deer scent us, the attributes and training involved with becoming a sniper should turn out a near perfect stalker.
Patience, concealment, stealth, observation, personal hardship to avoid detection, dedication under adverse conditions, planning an approach route and many more similar qualities are essential for both.
I'm not saying a qualified sniper isn't going to get buck fever but he's got every tool in the box to deal with it if it does arise.
Its a little bit harder and a darn sight more stressful to get within range of an armed enemy and keep them under constant obs for a week whilst carrying at least two guns and perhaps 30kg of other equipment than it is to tipy-toe up to a Roebuck adorned with half a Bushwear catalogue!

I refer you to my earlier post!, If It's DRT, or in the freezer, wether it shot back, or not, you had to creep up on it, etc........................

Sniping and Stalking are entirely different. With sniping the majority of the work is done leading up to the shot. With stalking all the hard work comes after the shot.
Snipers don't normally have to carry or drag out what they have shot.
...or if using a Barrett .50 cal, bag it all up!!
i only wear that on special occasions and only in the comfort of my own home

I can't see the true HERO Sniper who's medals recently sold for £125K having too much trouble slipping a 35g V-Max from my 22 Hornet through the vitals of a gay Lowland roe at 120m as it pussyfoots through the May bluebells!!

I took a shot at a doe in feb and just as i squeeezed the trigger she stepped foreward so the shot was a little to the rear, she dropped after 10 steps and i finished her with the knife, it happens to all of us mate... I normally go for neck shots or head shots on doe's but i was in a bad sitting position so went for the heart and lung shot..... slow is smooth smooth is fast

A fair comment? The guy has already admitted he's a novice stalker so hardly qualified to pick spots off other stalkes or thier shots??? Last Time I checked this was the stalking directory not the sniping directory...its the boathouse numpty now jog on......

Your welcome to come and stalk deer in open fields with no hedges and see how far you can stalk them ,, some times a well placed long shot is whats needed, but if you cant make the shot dont take it.... shoot to your abilities its a simple as that.
