Hi all, I'm wanting to upgrade the stock on my M18 just all round not the best been looking at the Bifrost and it seems to reasonably priced.

My question is which one I know the M18 is a rem700 style I believe so should just drop into a rem700 bifrost stock. But does it?

Do I need other gubbins to make it all work

Also if not a bifrost what would you pick?

I’m sure I read that they can be a nuisance to restock but I’m not entirely sure why. Boyd’s do stocks for the M18, I’ve considered getting one for mine but can’t justify the expense for what is a basic yet very accurate bit of kit that gets bumped around the woods.

Good to know it's a good rifle just the stock is super basic

I’ve put a neoprene butt cover on mine with a cheek raiser pad on it that’s made a lot of difference. I’ve been using mine for 5yrs now, great budget rifle that I don’t have to worry about getting scratched or dirty.

Where did you get both the butt pad and riser from
Just in case you missed it, are you aware that Mauser now offer replacement but pads in three different sizes if you want to alter the length of pull.

I have an M18 and sometimes toy with the idea of a new stock. I'm not 100% sure but I think the only part that is common with rem700 parts is the rail, I don't think the stock will fit. As I said I'm not 100% sure as it was a while ago I was looking into it, but make sure you check before parting with any money. Tony

I think that you are correct Tony.
Mauser actually offer quite a few different stocks themselves for the M18 now, probably quite pricey if bought separately I would think.

Not sure of the exact model as I’ve no longer got the packaging but it’s possibly made by Tourbon, and comprises a very snug camo neoprene butt cover (that is an absolute pain in the arse to get on) with different sized foam riser pads to shove underneath so you can adjust the cheek height.

Not the best photo of it but it gives the general idea. 1762173674889.webp
