Mealiejimmy

Sorry to hear this. As has been said before many times, he was always a font of unbiased knowledge. Thoughts are with his family.

Still reeling from the shock.
Every now and again when a bit of advice was required by an SD someone, be they old or new, I simply and frequently posted ‘Calling Bruce, calling Bruce….” and sure enough he would “come in” with his usual sage-like advice. Hard to take in that in future my calls will remain unanswered.
Thank you MJ for your wisdom and advice, so freely and generously given. Tonight, like others in the SD massive I will raise a glass in salute to you and all that you did for us.
We were truly blessed to have you in our little fraternity, sir….

Very saddened by this, he was one of the good guys on here who was happy to spend his time testing kit and sharing his impartial opinions to help others make decisions.
RIP Bruce, condolences to his family and all who considered him a friend.

What a tragic loss to his family, friends and the shooting community as a whole.

I only spoke to him 5 week's ago about recommendations for my next and final upgrade.
He said he was going to slow down a bit and not do so much on the forums.
This is the end of a very long era of advice he freely gave to help everyone who was taking the plunge into the dark side.

Deeply saddened to hear of this, Billy. His knowledge, expertise and banter will absolutely be missed by all that knew him.

Only known him a few short years but humbled to say that I did. Will be raising a glass to him.

Terrible news
I always enjoyed his posts and he has imparted his knowledge on more than one occasion.
Even on the internet he seems to be a proper gentleman.

Hope everything goes as easy as possible for his family and friends

What sad news, Bruce will be a real loss to the shooting community.
I have benifited from his many posts on here, and his exellent videos on the airgun forum.
A real fountain of knowledge.
Sincerest condolences to his family.

R.I.P. Bruce.

Really sad news, I had the pleasure of meeting Bruce earlier this year at the FMS Fisheries Enforcement Conference in Dunkeld where he was helping out with the Hik demonstration stand.
Sat and had lunch with him and had a good chat about the SD and all things thermal.

A really decent guy and sad to hear of his passing.

Just got in to read this. What terrible news.

I remember his help I don't know how long ago on the Night Vision Forum. Probably 15yrs ago. I was building a DIY night vision sight in the early days of the E700 board cams. Ever since those days, whenever I had a question about night vision or thermal, he was sure to pop up with a genuine pragmatic reply which was always appreciated and thoroughly helpful.

Very sad news and surprisingly shocking even though I never knew him personally or directly. I think that shows how well embedded and respected he was in our little world

I was so saddened to read your post Billy.
I’ll long have memories of all the positives I got from mealiejimmy. 💙
Rest in Peace Bruce.
Condolences to his family and friends.
Ken.

Crikey, that's a shock. Terrible news, I sent him a number of DMs over the past 2 years or more, he always came back with such detailed responses that I invited him to come out with me if ever in my neck of the woods. Sadly that won't happen now.😔
My condolences to family and close friends.

My condolences to his nearest and dearest. I was in touch with him several times, he dropped in to help me with a problem I had with my bench drill press. A loss to the community, knowledge beyond shooting has gone to his Valhalla. Fair winds, Bruce.
