Medical records

How far back do the gp have to go on medical records
I understand its from birth for a grant
But what about a renewal
Is it possible for your gp to go back 70 years ?

It seems that on each renewal they go back your whole life. Not sure why...surely the last 10yrs would be sufficient?
My wife had a problem this year with her renewal. We moved to wales since her grant 5 yrs ago. All was well with her grant but for some reason the first 25yrs of her medical records is now "missing".
North wales wanted an explanation, which neither we or the doctors can supply.
We have pointed out that all was well on her grant which they seem now to have accepted. 2 months after her sgc expired.
Home visit tomorrow.

It took me two weeks to get the medical form back from my surgery for a SGC renewal due early August, I sent it all in via the website last Thursday, called my local FEO on Monday morning to advise him that I had, he called me back later and we did the interview over the phone he asked all relevant questions plus asking ref my partner which he said was a new requirement and said that as he had been to my house three years ago when my address was changed a home visit was not needed. Then he told me they will pass it through the Maidstone office and it should be posted out to me in the next two weeks.
An absolute super way to do the service IMO.
