Mid Boot recommendations

100% not dedito.
I have a pair of scarpa that have put up with some punishment. I think I will be getting another pair of them, failing that a short pair of droves.

I think it depends on the terrain. If you need ankle support and intend to hit the hills, that will definitely be a different requirement to bimbling about deciduous forestry.

Army issue AKU high liability boots. Goretex very tough and comfy and can be had for £50-100 new on eBay.

Because they have D rings instead of hooks I chuck elastic laces in them as well to make them slip on and slip off. If walking any distance one pull on each and they are as tight as normal laces.

I found aku very very tight, even tried a full size up and still very narrow fitting, sold both pairs after a couple of outings

I need to get some new mid boots for stalking, just wondering what people are recommending these days?
Have a look at the Grisport website, bought a couple of pairs off there, the gamekeepers are fantastic, just changed the insoles to Superfeet and can wear all day , no issues, super comfy and great value

Interesting, what makes you say that about dedito? I was considering a pair of dedito moorlands so keen to understand if I should swerve them

Altberg boots served me well in the army. Plenty of choice there, including heavier duty 'keeper' style boots. Plenty of width and height options too. I have wide feet, narrow ankles and high arches and still found something to suit from the range.

Massively gone down hill. Not the boots they once was I'm afraid. Imo your mo ey would be much better spent elsewhere. T years ago they was the boots to have.the quality has fell through massively.
