Mincer advice: Luvele vs Trespade

Hi all, my cheap mincer’s plastic gear’s gone after some year’s of light use. I want to buy something better this time that hoping to last for ten years.

I process around ten deer annualy, maybe a little bit more. I don’t put bones into mincer.

I’ve made a little search on the forum and Buffalo, Trespade and Luvele come as result. I don’t want 22kg bulky commercial mincer so Buffalo is removed off the list.

Both Trespade and Luvele has good reputation and comments over the internet and here. Luvele looks better, compact, and a little bit cheaper however might be on less powerful side and Trespade is still bulky around 10kg and I am feeling that cast iron pieces would be pain to clean after use.

I would appreciate it if you comment on these two.

I’ve had a Trespade mincer for years. Got no complaints about it really. Seems to be reasonably heavy duty without being too big. It’s the only one I’ve ever had so I couldn’t compare it with any others.

Same here. Our Trespade has been used for about a year. It deals very quickly with cold cuts. Takes longer to wash it up than to mince the meat from a whole Roe.

I have had a luvele for about 6 years and process 15 to 20 deer (roe and red) per year. Very pleased with it.

I had a standard Trespade with the cast iron worm for a while. The outside of the worm itself is chrome plated and the chrome kept coming off mine (clearly ending up in the mince). I had 2 worms under warranty and eventually got a refund. I know have the slightly larger stainless Trespade and no complaints but I'd personally avoid the std one.

I've had a Luvele ultimate 1800w mincer for 4 years now and it's served me really well. I bought it for £75 off eBay. I've probably put about 100 deer through it, making hundreds of kg of sausage and mince. It doesn't block up if you chop up venison into 2-3" cubes. Off the top of my head it takes about 15 min to do 10kg.

I'm getting some wear on the worm spigot where it sits in the mincing plate so will see if I can get a replacement spigot, or possibly make one myself if not.

I wouldn't even have noticed that. I'd have just scrubbed it before next use!

More obvious in real life to be fair. If you look around the bits with rust on you can see big bits of chrome that have flaked off.

Another Trespade 12 user here. Upgraded from a knackered old Lidl mincer. Only put 1 Deer throught it so far but it's great. Much more powerful and as a result quicker to process mince than my previous.
