Mincer Cleaning

Just wondering if anyone has any experience of cleaning up and old mincer or if this mincer would be worth cleaning up??

The mince had been used in a bakery upto 6 months ago and then stored in a shed upto now. Is still in perfect working order just a little scrubby.

Would need a good cleaning to allow for mincing of edible foods. Just wondering what could be used for this or is it even possible.

I’d be more than happy to put a bit of elbow grease in. Just what to use as a cleaning product is something I’m bedazzled with and would it come up clean enough to be useable and hygienic afterwards.

It’ll be a nice winter project, I’m not sure how practical it would be for use. If there is no hopper tray with it, it’ll be hard to feed. Also is there a screw in the barrel? As there is usually a shaft poking through the plate at the front of the mincer but I can’t see one in your pictures.

Yeah there’s a big hopper tray with it just not in the picture. There a screw is attached on the inside of the grinding blade so just not visible at the moment.

The guy who has it was removing all equipment from a bakery. Had it in his storage shed since and is looking to sell it for €80. It’s a powerful grinder when turned on. It ground up a few carrots in seconds.

After some internet research I think it maybe a working project.
Will just need to be painted.
Soaked in some baking soda and vinegar bit of elbow grease and then treated and disinfected.

A lot better than the grinder I’m using at the min.

strip the paint on the motor covers and repaint while cleaning up all the mincer parts and you will have a mincer better than you can buy from China
l would love to come across something like this to do a bit of a restore job on,

I’d say definitely worth it.

Decent mincers are expensive, and if that machine can be returned to working order it will likely last a lifetime. Plus you get the sense of satisfaction from returning to working order what others might designate as scrap.

From the looks of it, it is a standard size, so a new stainless steel mincing plate and cutter should be available, and there’s little else necessary - other than sorting the electrics and some cosmetic paintwork required. There are plenty of hopper trays on eBay, though it sounds like you’re okay as is.

it looks like a crypto peerless. i had a newer one looks like a size 22. will mince any thing you put in it, hares and rabbits for dog food with ease. because of its age will probably want a fibre washer in the worm shaft
