Monarch Country Products Website Issue

Morning all.

Woke up to a nightmare today as our website has been hacked.

Our Instagram account was hacked last night which has allowed some bastard to stop our Monarch website from processing orders.

I have tried to take back control of our Instagram account, however after what I thought was a successful password re-set it has now flipped back to whoever hacked it - if anyone can offer any advice on how I can re-set and maintain control of our Insta' account it would be appreciated.

If anyone requires orders just drop me a pm with your email and I can send paypal invoices.

I'm not sure if you did or have set up 2FA on social media accounts but this is a good example of why everyone should.

Hacking into social media is often just the gateway to get into more sensitive systems and private data.

Have you tried contacting Instagram/Meta directly and being able to prove you are the rightful owner of that account and having them restore it to you?

I did manage to get the Insta' account re-instated by changing the password, security numbers etc, I had control of the account for about 10 mins then received an email from Instagram to state it had been changed back again in favour of the other party 😡

I've tried going through the process again but now can't seem to get anywhere - arghh!!
 
Have you tried resetting the password from a different device?
It could be that the computer you are using to access Instagram etc has been compromised.

Once you have regained control enable 2FA/MFA.
 
And sounds like a weak link in the chain?
It is if the proper security settings aren't applied. I constantly see updates on social media from friends informing me that they have been hacked, all usually down to not setting up 2FA because "it's a bit of a faff" not realising that it's a back door into nearly all your details. It's user error, not the platform itself as when you set up an account one of the first questions asked is "do you want to set up 2FA?"🤦🏻‍♂️
 
trying to get your account back through meta is hopeless unfortunately, I had all my accounts taken last year , never managed to get them back
 
If you believe any third party data has been taken you MUST report it to the Information Commission.
The fines for not doing so are hefty.

FURTHER TO A LONG CONVERSATION WITH OUR WEB CONTRACTOR THERE APPEARS TO BE A SERVER ISSUE (ERROR 500) ON OUR WEBSITE - IT HAS NOT BEEN HACKED.

ALL CUSTOMER INFORMATION IS SAFE.

I WILL CONFIRM WHEN THE ISSUE HAS BEEN SORTED.

(FOR TIME BEING WE DO NOT HAVE ANY ACCESS TO OUR INSTAGRAM SITE - APPOLOGIES IF ANYONE HAS BEEN SENT MESSAGES REGARDING CURRENCY TRADING)
