Hi,where have Muntjac reached?
Where in Cornwall,Devon,Dorset or Somerset have you seen them in what sort of numbers?

Several seen in Crediton area Devon. South Glos holds them but they are ellusive to say the least. We go for months without seeing any and then they just seem to be about. Buggers to shoot.

Longleat area plenty. Shot 25 last winter just about averaging 1 each outing. not been out nearly as much this winter and a bit down on the average but the weather has not helped. Pass up all the roe to leave for clients and tend to leave the fallow for others as well unless it's the right animal in the right place. That way I can concentrate more so on the muntjac.

I was told that you only really see 10 to 15% of the Munties that are actually on the ground so if you see one or two it could mean you have 10 - 20 lurking around!! They are not called an elusive little deer for no reason and they sit so tight alot of the time you are probably walking right past without even knowing they are there!

Just north of where you're looking at, but in south Glos, there's loads. My land has a fair few muntjac, some of which will have to be thinned out this year.

Reports that Muntjac have swam the Irish Sea to Co. Wicklow!! I haven't met anyone who has seen one and I haven't seen a photo of one in Ireland.

You hear folk say they are in Devon but no one seems to have a camera at the time!

Shot some with a client on the Quantocks - heads sent to Norma Chapman for her research but I can't remember if there were any results from it. Personally seen a couple on Haldon Hill when stalking that area in the 90s.
