Museum pieces on the shooting range

A few weeks back I took the kids to the annual “open tank range”.
This year they had taken a few old tanks out of the museum just to let a few rounds throu the old barrels again.
Think it is the first time since the went on retirement they put live rounds out of those old Centurions and Leopard 1s.

Found a clip on youtube from that day:).

The Centurion here seems to be one of the 105mm ones.
Centurions we had in mobilization store on Haderslev Barracks back in the late 80ies when I did national service still had the 20 pdr.

Some film from inside one of the old Centurions.
Incredible they load the gun before being in the firing position, that would not be considered safe with a rifle, even if it is blue practice rounds.

A German guest told me it would be unthinkable for a Museum in Germany to let their tanks or old guns shoot.
What in UK, do you take your old museum pieces out for live demonstrations?

The oldest gun to fire that day was an old muzzleloader from 1792.
