I'm not a fly fisher - yet... But I will be when I've got settled after my house move. Every time I drive alongside the Nith it always looks tantalisingly "fishy".I had this one from the Nith back in 2017 - returned as well (no matter what I do, the iPad posts it upside down)

There are some fantastic rivers in D&G.
I’ve fished perhaps half a dozen beats on the Nith over the years, all of which have looked fishy. However I’ve found it needs a good dose of water to be productive. If you can catch the river as it’s dropping it can get quite exciting!I'm not a fly fisher - yet... But I will be when I've got settled after my house move. Fixed it for you - getting a sore neck looking at the topsy-turvy one. A fine fishie!
Gorgeous fish . The biggest Brown I've ever caught was about 2 1/2 pounds out of the Bow River , amazing fish .Congrats OP that’s a beauty. Never managed to catch one bigger than half a pound. Browns just look stunning.
I know this is a stalking site but a few fly fishers on here so here goes…..Probably never get a better trout….on my own dry fly design I was shocked! A little over 5lb. Safely returned

OMG. get out there manLooks like its in great condition. Catching it on a homemade fly must make it an even better catch.
Fished pretty much all my life but never tried fly fishing.

I’m actually going stocky bashing tomorrow or Monday. Sadly 99% of the rivers near me are syndicates so that will have to do.
Surely that's a salmon that's been painted.Nice fish all but really just tiddlers - feast your eyes on NI’s finest!
These are dollaghan - brown trout which live in Lough Neagh and run the tributary rivers to spawn, all on the fly in my local river - biggest went 22lbs or so. Needless to say not caught by me!
