No ornamental ducks either.l, it’s an unland location so I’d side with the wader idea.

Grouse would fit the location but I haven’t heard any grouse up there in a long time.

That's cause the bloody peregrine keeps eating them

Looking in Tracks & Signs of the Birds of Britain & Europe (a highly recommended book) I'd say Red Grouse and definitely not a Kestrel
