Hi all, anyone have any thoughts on hanwag boots, iv currently got a pair of lowa, extremely comfort however got them last august and leaked straight away, they were however replaced but this pair now leak to, I no nothing lasts forever but thought I would get at least a couple of years from them,

We’re they the Lowa Hunter GTX by any chance?I only ask because mine did the same
I am a big Lowa fan and have had mountain GTX that lasted years - I also have a pair of Lowa for trekking etc and they are still going strong after 5 years To say I was gutted with the hunters is an understatement
I got Altberg for a hunting boot after trying hanwag and Zamberlan. Both seem decent but fit never suited me. Done a season with Altberg beating/stalking etc and very pleased
That said if I could only ever gave one pair of boots again Lowa mountain GTX for me

Hi, Yeah they were the Hunter gtx evidence extreme, don’t get me wrong, love the boots but really disappointed with the short time they’ve lasted, iv been treating them with the product sent with them when I bought them also, I will have a look at the altbergs, thank you,

I had a pair of hanwags. I dont really look after my boots that well and I think I only waxed them twice, still managed to get 6 years out of them. In the end, the leather at the bottom of the tounge cracked and started leaking. Great boot, cant fault them.

Don't discount Haix army boots ,high leg supportive ,waterproof and about 60 quid surplus.
Touch wood 2 years dry so far ,been beating ,stalking, and walking in them and only maintenance is with nick wax breathable leather polish.
I won't buy anything else now, Got 2 pairs which I wear on beating days/Stalking and foxing just about every night of the week, I allow one pair to dry naturally whist wearing a pair, I don't treat them or do anything with them and they still haven't let me down, Only thing I have done is put some really good Sole insoles in, best boots Ive ever had and Ive paid a fortune on boots in the past.

Hanwag are serious players with a pedigree, and make boots that work, and last.

The Hanwag Trapper were my favourite (goretex) boot for years, had 6 or 7 pairs, excellent, the shorter Alaska boot waw also great. I got a pair of Tatra Tops and they were in the bin within 8 months, I got a pair of the Brenner, sent them back within the week, crap!!
I have Miendl Kibo's just now, seem very good and seriously comfy.

I Have Hanwags. Great boots but they squeak like hell. Been looked after well, and tried everything but still the same. Talcum powder, leather treated, eyelets checked. Be as well blowing a horn when I’m out stalking. Just use them now for dog walking

+1 for Haix, got a pair that I wear for work 👍

What insoles did you get please as that's the one area that I think lets them down.

Bought these, Expensive but I find them really good.

Hanwags are fantastic! Extremely well made and very comfortable for me personally. I have the Tatra Top Gtx

I have a pair of tatra tops. They are great boots. Took a bit of breaking in. But that's a good boot to me. Now they are comfy. I did add a insole. But only one from boots nothing posh.
My laces had lost the end bits. I contacted hanwag and they posted me some out for free.
I tried some lowas on when my wife got a pair. I didn't think they were comfy or going to be. I wouldn't have bought them fir my feet personally
