We're all too old! I didn't like it when "they" changed my Outlook/Hotmail and I don't like it when I have to buy a new mobile telephone and it works differently to the previous one. Heck as a kid I didn't like it when we went decimal or when we had to do our geography lessons and read our Monkhouse in metres not feet. And that's the 1970s!

But it is what it is and I am sure that it wasn't all stress free either for those that provide this Forum for us to enjoy. In whatever form or style it takes Long Live the SD Forum. In this day and age of anti this and anti that involving shooting I just enjoy the pleasure of being able to enjoy a British "hunting" base. So to the moderators and owners...Thank You.

The upgrade mat have been mandatory for some administration reason. And the new layout happens to come as part of the deal.

Possibly the admins could give us a quick explanation of what the upgrade was and why it was required. There may be less complaints if people understand .

You only have to google it once, then save the new bookmark. I'm sure the change was necessary and not just a whim.
You'll get used to it in no time.
I like it. Much more modern looking.

It seems to have lost a lot of my posts. I can't see an easy way to find started threads and they don't appear in my posted threads. Seems that I have lost nearly six months of posts. So I am not so chuffed with the changes. I hope they get sorted. David.

Go to your profile and click on the 'Find' button. It's all there.

Like many, I hate change, old system worked fine for me so as far as I'm concerned a pointless change.
But I really hated having to google the forum to find it, as my old bookmark didn't work, and that really isn't an improvement, is it.

Like JTO I found that when I deleted "/activity.php" from the end of my bookmark address I found the forum....

I used to go straight to 'latest activity' and then 'threads I am in'...the new version of 'threads I am' in I have found is "watched" threads...but that only appears when you are logged in...logically...but I have just spent ages looking for "watched" until I noticed I hadn't been logged in automatically.

Takes me straight there and logged in.

I hope the new software will remember my login details when I use the iPhone...I always had to log in manually with the old version.

The old cliché....No change is for the better...but some change is inevitable!

The only issues I've found are that the individual links for the topics in the email updates don't work. They only take you to the forum index

And the list of smilies doesn't display properly on my Mac. I can only see the bottom row.

Alerts list is second in from the right between my Inbox and Search top right of the screen.

Damned thing is still asking for a valid password though I have entered it a dozen times.

I think I fixed one issue... it sees https://www.thestalk... and https://thestalk... as two separate logins. I fixed our end of things but Google still has https://thestalkingdirectory...

I think over the next day or so Google will start using www

I went back to edit my post in order to add that the first four alerts I had received at 10.47 AM were "You have been awarded a trophy:"

But...I could find no "edit" button? Is that no longer available or have I overlooked something?

Just check whether you are going to www.thestalk... or just thestalk... it treats them different...
