New long range lead

New from lapua, might be of interest for some.
I was intrigued that lapua obviously envisages some future for lead .22 despite all the terrible, terrible danger associated with lead projectiles.

I suspect that a 'lead ban' would be so detremental to competition shooting in the UK that the GB olympic teams that competed in Tokyo will either have to retire or change countries.

Probably aimed at the massive U.S. market

My point being, the impending lead ban in the UK us no bearing on any new products developed or released
Fully agree. I have contacted many manufacturers and enquired on their plans for both bullet and barrels in a non-lead world, and I can report there is ZERO plans out with narrow ammo non-lead EU ranges globally. This will become our problem, not a global problem.

Our best hope is RWS, Sako, and Norma for non-lead (factory) ammo development for the obvious europe reasons, but expect no designated non-lead rifle developments as the US drives the global demand; the UK and europe make up far less than 10% of consumption, so we are on a production basis, irrelevant.

Where is eley in all this nonsense?
Saving their pennies and waiting to see what happens, then make a move, in business strategy its called slow follower, with their brand establishment, it makes perfect sense as they can see what transpires, then act and produce/replicate and still retain large market share

Finally somebody who see the situation as it really is and not some rose tinted optimistic view that manufactures will come to the rescue of U.K. shooters.

Indeed, and thank you Sir.

In the UK and Europe, a few ammo manufacturers will try to make some offerings, but reality is that we may just have to realise re-barrelling in custom fast twist rates will have to be the way we adopt, perhaps with throat extensions for long bullets.

I suspect, Lothar Walter will become a major player in the ‘drop in’ barrel market for that in Europe.
