New scope and mounts

Well done MjjI.

You are right, holy s//t I am not paying that price. They are Leoupold caps, so I think I will call me old mate in the states and get them sent over, it will be half the cost. But its good to know that you can get covers for the VXL :-D

Happy days :-D

Ive just ordered a vxl long range, and must admit the price of the flip ups are bloody exensive but what do you think of the neoprene covers?

Just as good, probably better at keeping water out, but not so easy to flip up in an instance like a Butler Creek. Darn sight cheaper than the VXL caps though..................ouchhhhh

Try a bicycle inner tube, cheap and if you pull it off and drop it in the middle of a stalk and loose it you just cut another one from your tube.

Two other uses are:-

1. for making a fire, rubber tube is a great fire starter.

2. If you run into some attractive lady walkers and get lucky you just tie a knot in the end and you are all set for action.

Got my 56mm vxl today fitted and chuffed to bits. No shadow from the moddy and a damn site more comfey that a standrad 50mm scope. The flip up covers on ebay are about £20 cheaper than uttings so may possibly be a better buy but still stiff all the same. Im going to try the neo cover untill my missus lets me spen again or until I can pluck the courage up to tell her I have :???:

Hi Nutty,

which model did you go for? I'm looking to buy one soon when my mate goes to the States.
