This will no doubt come across as sour grapes but if I were so fortunate enough to catch a record fish I’d not be wanting it to have all the visible hallmarks of having been fed too many pies!

She measured 116cm too, must have swallowed a big trout before getting caught.

I think those fish weren’t claimed as a record. This is definitely the new uk record.

Very nice when they get massive, even if a trout diet has helped it along the way, good 40's are quite special fish.

Goliath Tiger Fish, I'd love to catch one, and a Mahseer, ever since I picked up Wade & Boote's book Somewhere Down The Crazy River...

Agreed, those long thin river twenties are pretty fish and easy to hold for a photo, those big old 40-pounders make your back ache holding the buggers..
