New wellies

Am looking for a new pair of wellies to replace some old and heavy agile neoprene lined boots which are just about knackered?

Any suggestions for a size 7?

Budget is not important as I want a quality product that will last.

TIA

3rd shout for Skellerup. My Quatro Sports are just starting to split and a new pair. due to arrive Tuesday. I can't get my calfs into Aigle

Le Chameau not cheep but insulated and long lasting, don’t get the ones with the zips

Damn - im looking to replace my Verizon after 10 years of weekly use, brilliant boots that have served me very well. Was thinking of zip up this time to make it easier to tuck my trouser legs in. Are they really that bad?

Also what are the benefits of leather lined over neoprene?

I,m in the same boat. Tried 9 different pairs on today, notably I didn’t try chamaues on as they weren’t in stock. Tried, muck, Quattro, Barbour, Hunter, Ariat, some expensive Swedish things, Dunlop and one that escapes me.
By a country mile the most comfortable pair were the agile parcours 2insulated ones. I wanted to try the jack pyke ones but could find a stockist open locally this weekend.
This will be my second pair of angles following a 12 year relationship with my lcm vizernords. The first aigles were damaged on a wire fence. I’d had those three years.
I’ll do 5 miles a night 3 nights a week and around 10 daylight miles every week this winter, the majority of that will end up being in wellies, comfort and fit is everything in my opinion. I’ve no doubt they won’t outlast some other brands, you just need to look at your priorities, I bagged a pair for less than £140 in the end.
Good luck, it’s a minefield.

Still searching for wellies that last as long as they used to; recently had Hunter Balmorals (2 pairs) and Percussion. Both did about 6 months of regular but relatively light use.

I wouldn't touch jack Pyke with yours mate. Tried a pair of their wellies a few years ago and tore them open three or four times in a couple of weeks
I think they painted some edam skin green and called it good

Honestly, I have been through just about every 'big' brand out there, none of which have lasted. On a whim I bought a 30 quid pair from Decathlon, and they are currently on their 4th season of full time picking up, shooting, stalking and mutt walking.

Blows my mind when I think of the money wasted on Le Chameau, Hunter, Harkila....the list goes on, and on, and on...

I agree …
Weeklies be it the originally material these days or made in China cheap type quality control I don’t know but they don’t last …..

I too have a neoprene pair zipped from Decathlon circa £55
And so far so good …..
If they aren’t going to last long then I’m not paying £200 plus

I also have the Verizon version 12 years and still going strong, have two mates who paid more for the zip version, issues with mud/sh’t getting caught in the zip and the envelope the zip closes over. Bit like straight pull versus bolt action, often simpler is better!!

I asked a similar question not too long ago, the answer was overwhelmingly aigle parcours, I went that way and am very happy with the decision. I too had aigle previously and ultimately it still seems they’re as good as it gets. I hear too many horror stories from le Cham, Harkila and Hunter.

Dreadful quality now. used to be great

I bought a new pair leather lined with zips about 18 months ago expecting they would last about 10 years like all the others have. 8 months in and heel had worn the leather on the inside and balled it all up and rubbed my heel. After some messing around I eventually got a replacement pair. 8 months in and they now leak at the base of the zip where the seal has split

Another vote for Aigle Parcours 2. I wear them every day, Around the yard and farm, walking on the moors, riding, stalking, beating , foxing etc. Reckon they’ve done 6+ years now and still going well minus the closure strap things....that said in the summer months the neoprene lining isn’t ideal.....socks tend to go in dry and come out wet....nasty!
