Le Chameau not cheep but insulated and long lasting, don’t get the ones with the zips
I wouldn't touch jack Pyke with yours mate. Tried a pair of their wellies a few years ago and tore them open three or four times in a couple of weeksI,m in the same boat. Tried 9 different pairs on today, notably I didn’t try chamaues on as they weren’t in stock. Tried, muck, Quattro, Barbour, Hunter, Ariat, some expensive Swedish things, Dunlop and one that escapes me.
By a country mile the most comfortable pair were the agile parcours 2insulated ones. I wanted to try the jack pyke ones but could find a stockist open locally this weekend.
This will be my second pair of angles following a 12 year relationship with my lcm vizernords. The first aigles were damaged on a wire fence. I’d had those three years.
I’ll do 5 miles a night 3 nights a week and around 10 daylight miles every week this winter, the majority of that will end up being in wellies, comfort and fit is everything in my opinion. I’ve no doubt they won’t outlast some other brands, you just need to look at your priorities, I bagged a pair for less than £140 in the end.
Good luck, it’s a minefield.
I also have the Verizon version 12 years and still going strong, have two mates who paid more for the zip version, issues with mud/sh’t getting caught in the zip and the envelope the zip closes over. Bit like straight pull versus bolt action, often simpler is better!!Damn - im looking to replace my Verizon after 10 years of weekly use, brilliant boots that have served me very well. Was thinking of zip up this time to make it easier to tuck my trouser legs in. Are they really that bad?
Also what are the benefits of leather lined over neoprene?
Am looking for a new pair of wellies to replace some old and heavy agile neoprene lined boots which are just about knackered?
Any suggestions for a size 7?
Budget is not important as I want a quality product that will last.
TIA
