Wanted: New Zealand next year

I'm looking to go down to NZ in Feb or March for a couple of weeks do some stalking and camping in the big open ranges down there. I have an invite for a few days out on the North Island already but I'd like to do some on the South Island as well.
If anyone has any contacts or advice for me I'd be grateful.

Also looking to go to NZ next year, probably later in the year & regrettably not likely to get any hunting in while I’m there - just a nice holiday, although when I show Mrs DB where my old office is I might just have to pop in to Gun City which is right next door (wasn't there when I worked there) & there’s also a Hunting & Fishing store less than 15 mins walk away too

Try wildsidehuntingsafarisnz I went out with Gerald for a stalk in North Island a few years back, but I'm sure he covers south also.

In terms of the South Island, there’s plenty of choice around Lake Hawea/ Wanaka and the only limiting factor is how deep your pockets are.

I spent the month of July in NZ. A week in the north Island, but I didn't bother hunting there. Nothing of interest for me up there.
I did 3 weeks in the south island and had a great time.
Download Topo50 and get into the hills. There is so much private land that you shouldn't need to pay a penny to a guide. I can put you in touch with a few chaps who will guide on public blocks too. Are you planning on taking your shooting irons? Or borrowing a mate's when you're there?
