Night Vision in Europe

My mates in Cz have hit a problem with our hunt this coming week and in last minute organising, alternatives including a couple nights in a hide seem to be on the cards.

Anyway I have both a Pulsar Thermal and Starlight Archer. Have a feeling I'm not allowed to take these out of the country but anybody up to speed about traveling in Europe with this technology?

The restrictions include that the aids should not be mounted on the rifle, I have used them as spotters in the past with no come back.

I thought it was only the low refresh rate stuff that you were allowed to take out of the country.

No idea on the law in the Czech republic, but here in Denmark, any night vision designed to be mounted on a firearm requires a licence. Hand held is free of restriction.

A friend of mine took a thermal the seeker out to Czech we flew from Stanstead to Nuremberg and back he was asked by customs in Nuremberg when returning what it was he told them and showed them how it worked but had no probs with it

In Germany you are allowed to use a scope, but not artificial light or night vision kit. No spotlights either. Just light of the moon.

Went out and back on EasyJet and this was a way better experience than with BA last year.
Nobody had any issues with the use of the TI and in fact Pulsar have an agent in Cz. One of my buddies out there had one of there digital NV units set up on a rifle.

Did one night in a hide at -10 Degrees C. Used the Ti until the batteries died from cold. They don't use lamps but apparently mounted NV is no problem. Although improved by the snow, when the Boar showed up, it was still shooting at shadows. Not a fan.

Next trip was a stalk. We got into a group of about 25 of them. I rapidly downed 4 juveniles and the TI was fantastic for finding them in the disappearing light.

Will definitely do this again. May risk the Archer next time too but still prefer driven boar.
