Quick update, the Wraith rail arrived and two problems,
Firstly it's not actually much longer than the original rail on the Zulus anyway so won't help with the eye relief.
Secondly the picatinny clamp spacing is too wide for the rail on my Bergara rifle
So it's going back and I've got a 0moa long mount on preorder from Blackwood's Outdoors.

I was out on rabbits last night , in a caravan park using my fac .177 Super10
I used a hand held spotter to locate then took the shot using a sniper hog red lamp fitted on top of the scope
It was likely the best ( non thermal) set up I’ve ever used . Bloody brilliant .
I think I’d rather buy a thermal spotter than a NV for rabbits , but that’s just me.
I use thermal on the .22lr but again, it’s the spotter that’s the properly invaluable tool.

I've just been testing the Arken Zulus and Hikmicro Alpex 4K LRF.
If you want a night vision scope, the Alpex 4K is a LOT better image and sensitivity than the Zulus, I'll upload some footage later from around 280yds. The Zulus was using it's inbuilt IR and the Alpex was using the Zulus IR also... The Alpex 4K loves the Zulus IR !
Daytime the Zulus produces a better image at longer range using digital mag.
Lowlight and nightvision, the Alpex 4K is much better than the Zulus. I found the Zulus good to about 100yds and beyond image wise, but quality drastically drops off, after that the Alpex takes over totally, also in any form of mist or moisture the Zulus image turned really bad, the Alpex 4K shrugged it off and says bring it on...

HIK Alpex 4k has the best image, followed by the Arken Zulus HD520R

If you want the best long range image I would stick with a rear add on and quality vcsel IR . A vulpine would probably be your best bet for this , or on a budget a Pard add on .
If you want real night vision dedicated performance then C50,Alpex A50T, Alpex 4K, Sightline , Drone, etc work in minimal ambient light at long ranges and cut through high humidity in the air better than smaller lens models , but they will pixelate compared to a rear add with high power vcsel at longer ranges ..
Significantly better than a Zulus zoomed in (or at base magnification)
The N470S is more sensitive to light than the Zulus, but it's laser based IR more than makes up for it's relative lack of sensitivity

. I do have a couple of thermal scopes which are great in woodland. My question about NV was to improve ID and to give me more magnification when in the open but still be able to use around woodland blocks or bush.

@Blackwood Outdoors any idea on an arrival date for the 0moa long Zulus mounts please?
Don't assume that a 0moa mount will solve any problems you have (or might think you have) regarding the position of the reticle when mounting a Zulus on a rifle
My Zulus has a 35moa mount and sits on a Tikka T1X rifle in 22 LR.
Zeroed at 50 yards, the reticle is just above the centre of the screen - perfectly usable
Arken sent me a 0moa mount and when I fitted that to the rifle instead of the 35moa mount, I couldn't zero the rifle because the reticle was off the bottom of the screen and would have needed quite a bit of shimming to make it usable
My shooting buddy Russ Douglas had exactly the opposite experience with 35moa and 0moa mounts on one of his air rifles
The 35moa mount needed shimming to get it zeroed anywhere near the centre of the screen and and the 0moa needed no shimming and a reticle position almost dead centre of the screen
Also, the long mounts aren't that much longer, most of the extra length is in the part that fits onto the pic rail rather than the part that holds the scope

My Zulus is on a 308 and with a 50m zero the reticle is in the top ¼ of the screen and taking a 100m shot it was a little higher still so hopefully the 35moa will bring it down to the centre or a bit lower hopefully.
I don't need it much longer, just 15-20mm will make it a little more comfortable and less of a stretch on my neck.
It's useable as is but could be improved and I think the new mount will do this. I will update on here once it arrives and I have it rezeroed though.
