Nissan Navara - Any issues?

We got ours proper stuck in soft sand at the end of a shout. The tide was coming in and got to within about ten feet of the truck. We had an RAF Sea King circling overhead with the winch man hanging out the door laughing and making rude gestures (this was involved in the shout, not launched for us!). We ended up getting towed out by the RNLI Talus tractor so that wasn't embarrassing at all!

I've been known to get my old batterd l200 and tow the CG pickup out of the occational hole in the past. thank god you have found a use for the RNLI:lol:.
where you based

Ive got an 06 manual navara that had 63000 on the clock when i bought it. at that point it had had a clutch at 40k. in my 3 years of ownership(now got 116k on the clock) ive replaced the lower ball joints twice. replaced 3 front wheel bearings (only come as acomplete hub with abs sensor). replaced prop shaft uj. had wiring replaced to rear abs sensors.
When the abs sensors fault the 4x4 system will not operate (which i found out in the middle of a muddy field ffs)
I get 33 mpg and apart from the bearing issues think the truck is great.

Try milner off road for spare parts, great customer service and fast delivery.

It doesn't sound like they are that reliable? It surprises me as this is pretty much the only twin cab i see on the roads these days. There are the odd Hilux and Ford Ranger scattered about but I rarely see anything else.

Do you think its due to the high number of Navara's on the road that we seem to hear more problems with them or is it literally just down to the fact that they aren't that reliable (or have a number of issues rather than reliability)?

I thought Nissans had a good reputation for reliability?

So far mine has been reliable, however when the engine problem (2.4% of 250,000 vehicles according to Nissan) became apparent they should have done a product recall and replaced the affected components rather than waiting for their customers of quite an expensive vehicle to suffer the inconvenience of a breakdown. atb Tim
