Nocpix vs Pulsar

Hi all,

I’ve been looking at the new Nocpix Vista handheld thermals and they look impressive.

Price wise they seem to be cheaper than pulsar (not a huge amount) but more expensive than HikMicro.

Do people know if that fits right in terms of brand reputation, build quality etc?

I was looking at the Pulsar XP50 lrf but the Nocpix Vista H50R is a bit cheaper ( not massively) and looks more sleek with its less obtrusive lrf.

I may struggle to test both side by side in real world conditions so would appreciate anyone’s thoughts.

Cheers

Daz

The keypoint with the Nocpix is the 2560px display , no other handheld at this moment in time has a display as large as this. Also the nice inline LRF feature.

Other factors inbuilt image stabilisation, x2 battery packs, etc

I hear a larger display is coming to pulsar, had a look through there latest scope, much larger screen, in the shape of the old tv scopes

Thank you all for your responses, that has been really helpful.

I think I have decided to move away from the Pulsar, not because it isn’t good unit, I am sure it is, but for me, I think I would prefer something with a bit less bulk. Particularly as I would want the LRF version and will be carrying Binos too

Now I just needs to decide between the NocPix and the HikMicro. Not from a specification perspective, but looking at other areas such as build quality and aftercare. I’m well versed I think with the Hik items but less so the NocPix given it’s so new

NocPix has 4 year warranty now also when registered on the NocPix website. Just something else to consider

Thanks for the update, I am definitely leaning towards the Vista H35R. have you had a chance to test this unit in the field yet? Given the brand, would you expect the image to be similar in ‘style’ to the infiray Devices?

Yes I have tested it, yes similar to Infiray as this is there new brand NocPix.

My friends who have looked through them liked them a lot, first comments were the display is huge and image quality they loved. So it all depends on your needs also, you cannot really go wrong with these models, especially the flagship models of each brand...

Does the vista 50 have a larger field of view than the habrok hq50?

Awesome, sounds really positive. Thank you 👍 I think the 35mm version would probably be best for me for my use. Lowland fields and woods.

Both have 12 micron 640x512 sensor so the same horizontal FOV (8.8°) and they should have the same vertical FOV but for some reason the HIK says 5.3° (which it shouldn't be) and the H50R says 7° (which is should be)

Had a look through the hik condors both 35mm and 50mm , had a look through the talos xp50 and have just bought a vista h35r , pulsar was a good unit but didn't like the range finder sticking out the bottom

Thanks for this. Yes, exactly what I didn’t like about the pulsar. Think its nearly 2 inches longer as well. About to pull the trigger on the NocPix myself. How’s the image on that unit?

Image is really good just as good as the pulsar but the screen is so mucher nicer in the vista , the screens in the hik units felt like they where in the next county when you looked through them

Appreciate the feedback 👍 I think NocPix are about to get another order 😀

It has a tripod mount too doesn’t it? I don’t have a thermal right now but am not a huge fan of things hanging round my neck. I guess if it does have a tripod mount, I could attach a camera quick detach mount
