Non Invasive Mod Removal?

Might be a lump of rust on the end of the barrel, causing a donut that won't let the mod off. A grinder might be your only option.
You could try heating it and squirting it with wd40 or the like.
Anything to get rid of rust will screw the bluing, as it just controlled rust. Vinegar, citric acid etc.

It feels like it is unscrewing off the end of the barrel, but then just spins and won't come any further as if it is held on by crud

If you run a garage, then you'll know what a stripped thread feels like, and if you're saying it isn't it, then fine. I would use any of the many barrel cleaning solutions available on the market (the type that you'd normally fill the barrel with and leave for a couple of days).

That's the least of my worries at the moment 🤣

Check out the video, doesn't add up..

Hadn't thought of standard barrel cleaner 🤦

There is a bridge in the mod (say an M24 LHT) which is screwed onto the moderator. The bridge (or thread adaptor) is screwed onto the barrel which has an M14 RHT.
The bridge is stuck on the barrels threaded end.

You wiil likely need to sacrifice the moderator to get at the bridge, you will probably ruin the M24 thread getting the bridge off.

PS. I am guessing the barrels and moderators bridge thread size.

Next time I have to fix something I will have to ask on here
Now where is the carbon removing spray...

You can laugh, we have a truck like that at work, looked perfect in photos, customer bought sight unseen from Texas, turned out to be mainly aluminium held in place by tec screws and then filled over and painted - we have stripped it back to the remains of the metal and looks similar to the one in your vid 😭

My Muppet mate never thought to remove the mod from or even clean his rifle over the last 8-10 years and has passed it to me to check it over and re-zero.

So, step.one was to give it a good clean, alter the bipod to stop it rubbing on the mod and then try to get it zeroed.

So far I am really struggling to get the mod off - it felt like it was unscrewing and went loose as if it was off the thread, but won't come any further off.

I have tried stripping from the back, but that doesn't help much.

I run a garage so have induction coils, gas, stilsons, so will get it off one way or another, but would like to try a none invasive way.

I suspect it is 'coked' up inside holding the baffles that are over the barrel, so wondering if anything like boiling water, vinegar, brake cleaner, etc would help to dissolve the **** away.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Submerge in paraffin (wont swell any seals) or diesel. Pop it in tomorrow & check after a fee days 💯🎯
